Scenery on the way to El Cerado

These pics may help give you a sense of the mountains we travelled through to get to the clinic.....

What the photos don't tell is that it was a long hard and dusty ride up the hills in the back of the pickup perched on the bags of supplies.  Every time we got to close to the vehicle in front, we were literally eating their dust and chewing on the black smoke of diesel exhaust.  The back draft from our own truck, especially when climbing hills was terrible.  We were crammed in like sardines and trying to minimize the pain when hitting bumps and ruts.

In other words, it was a lot of fun and we had a good time. Ouch.....

  1. We all love checking the blog daily. I am glad you are finding things to do! Keep up the good work! I haven't seen posts put up by all students yet. I hope they are communicating with family to let them know they are fine!
It is hard to believe you are a week into the adventure!
